Course Description
Mary's classes are designed for students who desire further study in the fine arts field.
From the beginner to the experienced artist, all levels of experience are welcome and individualized instruction provided to meet each student's skill level. If you are a beginner,
we start with the fundamentals through guided lessons. If you already have experience with drawing and/or painting, class instruction is adapted to fit your needs. Experienced artists should bring a project to class each day. Expect a workshop like atmosphere and come ready to learn and create.
Experienced students are to provide and work form reference pictures. No image should be smaller than 6x8 inches. Student’s supplies are not included in cost.

Teen Art Exploration -Wednesday Afternoon Weekly Class

Level : Youth & Teen (5th - 9th grade); Beginner to Advance.
PLEASE NOTE -Younger students accepted with permission from instructor.
Tuition: $ 160.00 Cost includes most art materials
Course Description
During each session, emphasis is made on developing existing skills and learning new techniques in the areas of graphite, color pencil drawing, and acrylic painting.
All levels of experience are welcome and individualized instruction provided to meet each student's skill level. If you are a beginner, we begin with the fundamentals through guided lessons.
If you already have experience with drawing and/or painting, class instruction is adapted to fit your needs.
Experienced artists are allowed to work in their medium of choice. However, students must be prepared with reference materials and be ready to create!
*Materials needed for individual classroom art projects-Returning students must bring 3-5 reference pictures. Images can be printed or be downloaded to a tablet. Students are not allowed to work from cell phones due to the small image size.
Required supplies for this program: One 8x10 drawing pad.

Acrylic Painting Supply List-For the new student, a good paint to begin with is Artist Loft available at Michaels. As you progress, I suggest investing in “artist quality” paints. - Stretched canvases- Art stores sell prestretched canvases. Make sure the canvas is stretched evenly and tightly. Canvases must be pre-gessoed.
- Canvas Boards.
- Synthetic brushes-available at Michaels.
- Palette knife for mixing paint.
- Sketch pad-Canson Mixed Media xl pad 7x10 inches. Pad is for fundamental painting lessons, notes and sketching.
- Pen, pencil, eraser
- Paper towels
- Acrylic brush cleaner-dish soap also works.
- Water containers -Two large enough to hold brushes and not fall over.
- Small spray bottle.
- Samples and/or photos of your work-optional.
- Pencils: 4H, 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B (try to use the same brand)
